Lake Mead
Temporary Ban On Personal Watercraft Use
On September 15, 2002 personal watercraft (PWC) use will be prohibited on the waters of Lakes Mead and Mohave. This is in compliance with the court-approved settlement agreement of a lawsuit brought by the Bluewater Network against the National Park Servide.

In order to allow PWC use to resume, the settlement agreement requires that Lake Mead National Recreation Area prepare an Environmental Impact Statement and a special regulation. This process is expected to be completed as early as the spring of 2003. When the temporary ban is lifted, Lake Mead National Recreation Area will honor the 2002 personal watercraft lake use stickers throughout 2003.
